چکیده

Materials and methods Twenty children (mean age 9 years (SD2.3)) performed five running trials at a self-selected velocity barefoot and wearing school shoes (Daytona, Clarks) in a random order. A 14 camera 200Hz motion analysis system (EVaRT5.0, MAC) was used to calculate marker trajectories. Markers were attached to the right leg and a cluster wand was attached to the calcaneus through a window in the shoe. A standing reference trial was used to embed segment axes and then calculate ankle joint complex motion. Force plate data were collected at 1000Hz (KistlerTM). Data were normalised to the stance phase and sub-phases partitioned from the anterior/posterior force data as: loading (initial-contact – maximumnegative force); mid-stance (maximum-negative force – zero) and propulsion (positive force – toe-off).

The Effects of Increasing Running Speed on Three-Dimensional Peak Angle of the Lower Limb Joints in Stance Phase

Objective: Attention can be paid to the biomechanical characteristics of running since the speed of running varies. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of increasing running speed on the three-dimensional kinematics of the lower limb’ joints in the stance phase. Methods: The research was quasi-experimental. 27 volunteer subjects ran on a treadmill and the kinematic and ...

Comparisons of bracing and patellar taping on knee three-dimensional kinematics of women with patellofemoral pain syndrome in stance phase of running

Introduction: Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is one of the most common knee injuries that accounted for between 25-40% of all knee problems presenting to sports medicine centers. Two treatment methods of bracing and taping are recommended in these patients that their effectiveness are unclear. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the two treatment methods on knee three-dim...

Comparison of Minimalist Footwear Strategies for Simulating Barefoot Running: A Randomized Crossover Study

Possible benefits of barefoot running have been widely discussed in recent years. Uncertainty exists about which footwear strategy adequately simulates barefoot running kinematics. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of athletic footwear with different minimalist strategies on running kinematics. Thirty-five distance runners (22 males, 13 females, 27.9 ± 6.2 years, 179.2 ...

Acute Effects of Different Cushioned Footwear on the Biomechanics of Running

The purpose of this study was to investigate how different footwear (highly cushioned, standard, minimalist shoes) affect peak ground reaction forces, average loading rates and joint kinematics during running. Nine participants ran at a self-selected speed across all shod conditions, minimalist, highly cushioned and standard running shoe. Vicon Nexus was used to analyze joint kinematics of the ...

The mutual effect of navicular drop and the type of foot covering on the contact forces of ankle and knee joints during running

Introduction: One of the best interventions in the field of reducing injury and improving performance is running shoes. Despite this, the research results show that achieving the desired result due to using shoes depends on paying attention to other influencing factors such as foot structure. Therefore, the present study was carried out with the aim of investigating the mutual effect of navicul...
